SWRHA: Response to Newsday’s Article “Help Save My Sight”
Wednesday, May 02, 2018

San Fernando. May 1st, 2018.

The South-West Regional Health Authority wishes to respond to the article published in today’s Newsday entitled “Help Save My Sight”.

A review of our records revealed that 2 appointments had been given to Ms. Marsha Joseph and unfortunately not kept. In an effort to immediately assist Ms. Joseph with her medical condition, the relevant departments have been in contact with Ms. Joseph to ensure that she receives the required medical care and assistance.

It should be noted that SWRHA has recently launched a Cataract Initiative to reduce the backlog and has conducted an estimated 350 successful surgeries since the launch of this initiative.

The South-West Regional Health Authority remains committed to constantly improving the healthcare for the people of the southern region.
