World AMR Awareness Week

The Ministry of Health shines a spotlight on antimicrobial resistance (AMR), which is a global health threat that affects us all. Antibiotics and other antimicrobial agents are used to treat or prevent infections. However, their overuse and misuse cause organisms to change and develop resistance, making infections more difficult to treat. This is known as antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

The theme for WAAW 2025 is  “Act Now: Protect Our Present, Secure Our Future.

Act Now: Every action counts! Whether it’s consulting your healthcare provider before taking antibiotics or practicing good hygiene, you can make a difference.
