Blood Banking Phlebotomy is a more specialized practice connected to the area of Transfusion Medicine and certified by a Blood Banking Hematologist. Persons conducting Blood Banking Phlebotomy have wider duties, functions and responsibilities.

Social Work services are an integral part of health care management and service delivery. Social Work provides services (advice, support and advocacy) to persons and groups with the aim of enhancing the interpersonal competence and social functioning of the persons involved. Social Work in health care is delivered by two groups of professionals –Psychiatric Social Workers and Medical Social Workers.

Medical Laboratory Technicians are responsible for the Chemical, Microscopic and Bacteriological testing for substances such as blood, tissue, urine and other body fluids for detection, diagnosis and treatment of diseases.

Involves the conduct of technical work in the field of Public Health Education. Work includes giving lectures and demonstrations to groups and voluntary organisations on matters pertaining to Health Education and assisting generally in all other aspects. Work is performed under the supervision of a higher level Health Education Officer who reviews work for conformance to established departmental policies and accepted techniques and procedures through conferences, reports and an evaluation of results achieved.

Epidemiologists conduct research in order to determine the risk factors of a particular disease to a given population and ways of eliminating it.
